What nostrification actually is
Nostrification is the formal process by which Czech authorities recognise a foreign qualification as equivalent to its Czech counterpart. For Indian students, this usually means having your Class 12 certificate or bachelor's degree officially validated so a Czech university can admit you.
Not every university requires it some partner institutions accept your documents directly. Where it is required, the process runs through a regional authority or the university itself, and it takes time, which is why we start it early.
How it works
- 01Confirm whether you need it
Your counsellor checks your specific university and programme some partners waive nostrification entirely.
- 02Collect original certificates
Class 12 or degree certificates and complete mark sheets, in original.
- 03MEA apostille in India
Your documents are apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs to be valid abroad.
- 04Certified Czech translation
Apostilled documents are translated into Czech by a court-certified translator.
- 05Submission to Czech authority
The application is submitted to the relevant regional authority or university department.
- 06Decision & certificate
Once approved, you receive an official recognition certificate accepted by Czech institutions.

01Does every student need nostrification?
No. Several Ahoy partner universities accept Indian qualifications directly. Your counsellor confirms the requirement for your specific programme.
02How long does nostrification take?
Typically one to three months after submission, in addition to apostille and translation time.
03What is the difference between apostille and nostrification?
Apostille authenticates your document for international use; nostrification recognises your qualification as equivalent to a Czech one.
04Does Ahoy handle the whole process?
Yes, our documentation team manages apostille, certified translation and submission on your behalf.
05What if my nostrification is refused?
Refusals are rare and usually document-related. We identify the gap and reapply, or shortlist universities that don't require nostrification.
